Amoeba Records - "What's in my Bag"

Amoeba Records is perhaps one of the most recognizable records stores in North America. This independent store carries over 100,000 records in its three locations, San Francisco, Berkeley and Hollywood. For those who are not near any of those locations, Amoeba also has an online store.

Also, Amoeba has a web series called "What's in my Bag". Whenever, a recording artist or celebrity goes into their store, the Amoeba staff interviews them and asks what they bought at the store. They are always extremely interesting and you get to know what famous musicians are listening to. Here is a clip of Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters discussing what he bought that day at Amoeba.

This is a great way to get people interested in buying new and old music. It is a really great PR tactic for Amoeba and great way to get people to know about their store.

Amoeba is also famous for their in-store live performances. One of my favourite performances comes from the British rock band Supergrass. Watch the video below.
